Knock, knock…

Who’s there?

“A DOOR!”

“A DOOR”, who?

I “A DOOR” a colourfully painted interior front doors!

Hey, I never said I was a great joke teller! In fact, after that lack lustre zinger, I think it’s safe to say that I should stick to my good ‘ole day job. And since colour and design is really my thing, I decided to pull together a wee collection of interior doors that showcase a splash of colour on the inside of the home…not just on the outside.

Homeowners often overlook the opportunity to paint the interior side of the front door anything other than white, but when it’s done right, it can add so much personality to an entryway and make the door part of the décor.

Here are a few of my faves from every slice of the colour spectrum…

I love this “white to wow” before and after!

Deep purple is elegant and regal with the addition of gold door hardware.

Peacock blue paint makes the stained glass details pop!

Powder blue perfection on the door and trim!

High gloss clover green highlights the wood detail on this stunner of a door…

Fresh citron green is the perfect colour to connect the indoors to the outside landscape.

Bring the sun inside with a cheery splash of yellow!

Orange is warm and welcoming in a front hall foyer…

Cheery red is bright and delicious on a kitchen porch door.

Which front door hue is your fave?

I’m about to tackle my own front foyer overhaul and take a slightly less colourful leap on the interior front door a la charcoal gray. Here’s my inspiration…

Have you painted your interior door anything other than white??? I’d love to see it!!! Share a pic of your perfectly painted interior door with our Facebook community:
