Materials Needed

  • Wooden shelving unit
  • Drop cloths or old sheets
  • Sandpaper (approx. 220-grit)
  • Lint-free cloth
  • Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2x Primer Spray
  • Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X Gloss Spray in Meadow Green

Step 1

To begin, move your shelving unit to an open area, either outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as a garage. Take the time to cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from spray mist.

Step 2

If your shelf has any rough spots or loose paint, sand the surface until it’s smooth. Wipe your shelf with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove dirt and debris. Before you continue, make sure the surface is completely dry.

Step 3

Laying your shelving unit on its back, coat the entire surface with Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X Primer Spray. If the backside will be visible, be sure to apply primer once front is fully dried. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for application, dry time and clean up. Allow to dry fully.

Step 4

Now comes the fun part – the colour! Apply Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X Gloss Spray in Meadow Green or a colour of your choice to really bring your project to life. If a second coat is necessary, re-apply within one hour or after 24 hours for best results.

Step 5

Allow piece to dry fully before attaching any hardware or hanging on your wall. A simple addition like this can be a perfect place for those quick-grab bathroom accessories.
