DIY Spa Table

Materials Needed

  • Unfinished wooden side table
  • Sandpaper (approx. 220-grit)
  • Drop cloth or old sheets
  • Lint-free cloth
  • Painter’s Touch Ultra 2X Primer Spray (colour of your choice)
  • Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X Semi-Gloss Spray (colour of your choice)

Step 1

To begin, move your side table to an open area, either outdoors or in a well-ventilated space such as a garage and cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from spray mist.

Step 2

If your table has any rough spots, sand the surface until it is smooth to the touch. Wipe your side table with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.

Step 3

Once your surface is prepped, coat the entire table with Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X Primer Spray. Hold the can 25-30 cm (10-12″) from the surface and spray with a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.

Step 4

Next, apply Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2X Semi-Gloss Spray in a colour of your choice. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart. For best results, apply multiple light coats versus one heavy coat. To ensure you’re getting all angles, once your top coat is dry, flip your table and paint the bottom. It’s more noticeable than you may think!

Step 5

Finally, once your table is dry it’s time for pampering! Gather your favourite spa treats – candles, music and plush hand towels – and enjoy a nice bubble bath after your hard day’s work.
