Office Supply Cabinet Make-Over

Materials Needed

  • Old metal cabinet
  • Drop cloth or old sheets
  • Lint-free cloth
  • Painter’s tape
  • 3″ Paint Roller
  • Medium synthetic brush
  • Tremclad Hammered Finish in Charcoal Grey
  • Tremclad Hammered Finish in Silver

Step 1

Always important to start with a well-ventilated area. Open windows to help air flow. Next, enlist a helper to place the drop cloth under the metal cabinet to protect your floors and surrounding area from paint drips.

Step 2

For this design, you’ll want to start with the bottom half of the cabinet. Using the painter’s tape, mask off the top of the cabinet as well as any handles or hardware. Be sure to prepare your painting surface by removing any dust and debris with a clean, damp cloth.

Step 3

Use your roller and brush to paint the bottom of the cabinet (and inside if desired) with Tremclad Hammered Finish in Charcoal Grey. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations on preparation, application, and drying times to ensure a perfect finish. Allow to fully dry.

Step 4

Remove painter’s tape from the top of your cabinet. You may wish to tape off the bottom of the cabinet along the top edges to maintain a clean line. Use your roller to paint the top of the cabinet with the Tremclad Hammered Finish in Silver. Allow to fully dry.

Step 5

Once your pieces are completely dry you’re finished! Fill your cabinet with supplies and watch your home office transform into a clutter-free environment.
